Art we sketch until our hands falls off. Sill life sketching was always easy for me, but next we have to paint a still life composition based on a chosen artist and his technique.
I had a lot of choices from Van Gogh to Picasso, but I have chosen a very special artist who’s work always had grabbed my attention with his works.
Juan Gris, born in Spain and studied mechanical painting in Madrid and moved to Paris. After Paris he med a lot of great artist who later became his friends. These artist were: George Braque, Matisse and Picasso.
Him and those artist came up with a technique called cubism, which I will have to apply to my still life painting. Picasso went strait to analytical cubism while Gris went to synthetic cubism which is more colorful and noticable. It create a floating effect on the foreground of the painting.
Challenge accepted!
First off that isn’t me, but he was in my biology class dissecting pig hearts to get an idea of a heart as a structure.
Snow in shanghai !!!!
It was fun at school when it snowed. It’s always fun to throw snow ball at people (sorry Tim :P).
But most of all happy snake year! And hope you can sleep for people who still is in shanghai, due to all the firework. In Chinese tradition they believe that having firework is good luck but I think its just simply blowing up money.

Business study project
Our task was to make the most profit, which is why my group decided to sell a drink but the school canteen bans selling food outside of the canteen because they have a contract with the school.
My group ran out of ideas and was lost until one of our group member brings out an idea of selling bracelets for very low price. I liked this idea because they need only a very small budget, but they are selling them for an extremely low price, which takes us longer to make enough profit to beat our competitors.
So our group leader sauce that we can set up three different services or sales. These three things are: bracelet sale, football shooting competition and lucky draw. Each aimed at different target market.
This strategy is to see which makes the most profit and which will make us lose money.
To make sure this run smoothly we are going to hire one or two people to help out.
The winner of this project will get to go and compete in Beijing.
DT we have started with a study on thermal plastic like acrylic. We studied by making plastic trophies.
Not a challenging task but I have learned that the insulator gloves are really hard to maneuver in!
